Serve with Purpose: Monthly Food Bank Volunteering
Join us for a meaningful morning of service as we volunteer at the Alameda County Community Food Bank. From 8:30–11:30 a.m., MCC community members will come together to help prepare meals and assemble food bags for families in need across East Bay.
This monthly initiative is a chance to give back, strengthen community bonds, and make a tangible impact on those facing food insecurity. Whether you’re coming with friends, family, or on your own, your time and effort will go a long way in supporting underprivileged communities.
All are welcome—come ready to serve, connect, and make a difference.

BEFORE YOU ARRIVE:
- Organizing carpools is highly recommended.
- Shoes that cover your entire foot are required, preferably sneakers or boots (no crocs!).
- Appropriate clothing should be worn for your volunteer shift – limited jewelry, no perfume/cologne, and comfortable clothing that you don’t mind getting a little dirty.
- Dressing in layers is recommended since our warehouse is not climate-controlled. This also means that the air quality outside will affect the air quality in the warehouse – please be aware of this if you have respiratory sensitivities.
- Volunteers are encouraged to bring a pair of sturdy, reusable work gloves.
- Youth (ages 10-17) must have the Waiver Form signed by a parent/legal guardian – if it wasn’t completed during the sign-up process, it can be printed here and brought to the shift. One adult volunteer must be present for every five youths.
DAY-OF INSTRUCTIONS:
- DO NOT volunteer if you’re experiencing any signs of illness.
- Plan to arrive around 10 minutes before the shift begins for check-in.
- Pack a lunch or snacks! We also recommend bringing a reusable water bottle.
- Keep personal belongings on you, safely secured in your car, or in one of our on-site lockers. Please note we have limited locker availability.
- Frequent hand-washing of at least 20 seconds is required before starting work, at the start and end of all breaks including lunch, and when leaving at the end of the day.
If you need to cancel a shift, please follow this link (https://www.accfb.org/get-
Park in the back (past the loading docks), in the lot by the building with the Community Engagement Center sign. For everyone’s safety, drive slowly and carefully as you head to the parking lot. We enforce a 5-mph speed limit.
The entrance is beneath the orange awning, in front of the parking lot.
