Monthly Sisterhood Hike

Join us from 6:30 a.m. to 8 a.m. on July 2 for a Saturday morning hike at Lake Chabot Regional Park near San Leandro to get to know other sisters in the community and enjoy the great outdoors. No children please (teens okay).

– When: Saturday, July 2
– Time: 6:30 a.m. – 8 a.m.
– Carpool: No carpool from MCC is available for this hike. Carpool encouraged with others on this hike.
– Location: Parking lot, 17600 Lake Chabot Rd, Castro Valley, CA 94546
– Distance: Around 8.7 miles
– All Trails: https://www.alltrails.com/trail/us/california/lake-chabot-west-shore-bass-cove-columbine-honker-bay-east-shore-loop
– Difficulty: Easy to Moderate
– Misc: Please wear comfortable walking/hiking shoes, carry enough water, a small snack, hat, sunglasses, and hiking poles if you have one. No cell network in that area, suggest carpooling and downloading the AllTrail maps.

Sr. Sohaila Ahmadyar will be leading the hikes in June and July. On the day of the hike, if you have trouble finding the group, please call or text Sr. Sohaila at (925) 786-7698. Please remember that we cannot hold all the group so we request you to please be on time.

About the Trail:

Check out this 4.7-mile loop trail near Alamo, California. Generally considered a moderately challenging route, it takes an average of 2 h 20 min to complete. This is a very popular area for birding, hiking, and trail running, so you’ll likely encounter other people while exploring. The trail is open year-round and is beautiful to visit anytime. Dogs are welcome but must be on a leash.
