Qari Amar’s program offers classes for beginners, advanced, and hifz students.
In the beginner class, students learn to read the Arabic alphabet with the correct pronunciation. Students must be five years old or older to attend the class.
Students who meet the requirements of the Beginner’s Qur’an class can move on to the Advanced Qur’an class.
Beginner’s and Advanced Classes are offered:
- Mon. & Wed. 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. (beginners and advanced)
- Mon. & Wed. 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. (beginners and advanced)
- Mon. & Wed. 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. (beginners and advanced)
Teachers include Sister Amel (beginners), Sister Reham (beginners), Sister Nooria (beginners), Sister Uzma (beginners), Qari Amar (advanced), and Qari Tayeb (advanced).
Tuition: $90/month for one student and $75/month for each additional student.
A minimal book fee (beginner’s level only) also applies to each student. Book fees will be added to the first automatic payment in September 2025.
Qari Amar’s Beginner’s and Advanced Classes Calendar
The Hifz program Qari Amar teaches is for students interested and committed to memorizing the Qur’an. Students must attend at least two of these sessions:
- Thur. 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
- Fri. 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
- Sun. 8 a.m. to 9 a.m.
Tuition: for three Hifz weekly sessions is $300.00/month for one student and $250.00/month for each additional student.
Tuition: for two Hifz weekly sessions is $200.00/month for one student and $150.00/month for each additional student.

Financial Aid
The MCC has a standing policy that financial need should never hold a family in the East Bay from benefiting from any offering at the MCC facility. To request a financial waiver, please complete the application at mcceastbay.org/scholarship. Your application will be reviewed, and you will be contacted regarding its status.
