In the enormity of this moment, MCC is responding to our sisters and brothers in Palestine by:
- – Our Jumu’ahs on Friday, October 13, are dedicated to our sisters and brothers. Our Khateebs will make dua and encourage worshipers to give generously for humanitarian relief efforts in Gaza. MCC will absorb the credit card processing fees and send collected funds to Islamic Relief & UNRWA. Donate at mcceastbay.org/palestine
- – Our MCC youth are baking goods and selling in the MCC lobby during the Jumu’ahs for humanitarian relief efforts during Jumu’ah.
- – Dr. Rania Awaad from Maristan will also lead a pop-up Community Circle for Palestine at 5 p.m. on Monday, October 16. RSVP.

This circle will serve as a safe space for discussion and prayer for our brothers and sisters in Palestine. Maristan’s President, Dr. Rania Awaad; and our expert guest speakers, Dr. Hatem Bazian, Dr. Omar Suleiman (tentative), Dr. Jess Ghannam, and Sheikh Tariq Musleh, MSW will address the following objectives:
Education: To address and historically contextualize what is currently happening in Palestine
Mental Health Support: To learn mechanisms for coping with conflicting or complicated emotions
Community call to action: what is our role in supporting our Palestinian Brothers and sisters?
Prayer: Duaa Nasiri (prayer of the oppressed) for our brothers and sisters in Palestine
