About the speaker
Safa Ahmed is the Associate Director of Media & Communications for the Indian American Muslim Council, where she works to educate the public – from educators to activists to community members – on Hindu supremacist ideology, and amplify the voices and stories of Muslims in India. She’s represented IAMC before the United Nations, the U.S. Department of Justice, and at dozens of events and panels nationwide. She’s also been interviewed on several podcasts and radio shows, including Georgetown University’s Bridge Initiative podcast, Radio Islam International, Jewish Currents, Genocide Watch, and more. She has written on Hindu supremacy and human rights in India for Al Jazeera, The Diplomat, Jacobin, Progressive Magazine, and others. Safa Ahmed is a second-generation Indian-American activist from Raleigh, North Carolina.
