Eid ul-Fitr'26 @ Alameda Fairgrounds

On Friday, March 20, 2026, we welcomed about 7,000 community members as our MCC community came together with the SRVIC masjid community to celebrate Eid al-Fitra ’26 in a truly memorable way at the Alameda County Fairgrounds.

The morning was filled with a sense of unity, gratitude, and joy as families, friends, and neighbors gathered for our annual Eid prayer.

To accommodate the large turnout, we organized three separate prayer services throughout the morning. Each one was beautifully attended, and in total, we welcomed about 7,000 community members. From the earliest arrivals to the final prayer, the atmosphere was vibrant and heartfelt—smiles, embraces, and greetings of “Eid Mubarak” echoed across the grounds.

We were honored to host an inspiring lineup of khateebs who delivered powerful and uplifting reminders. Sidi Afraz Khan, Ustadh Dr. Hatem Bazian, and I were especially privileged to have Shaykh Hamza Yusuf as our special guest speaker, whose words resonated with wisdom, compassion, and a call to strengthen our connection with both faith and community.

In addition to the prayers, attendees also enjoyed a lively Eid bazaar set up at the fairgrounds. The bazaar featured a variety of vendors offering food, clothing, gifts, and handmade goods, creating a festive atmosphere for families to explore and enjoy. It was a wonderful opportunity to support local businesses, treat loved ones, and extend the celebration beyond the prayer itself.
