For a span exceeding six years, Mohammed ElFarooqui has been a pillar of service within the Houston community. In the tapestry of his journey, a significant chapter commenced in July of 2022, when he assumed the esteemed mantle of Associate Religious Director at the Maryam Islamic Center. His duties are directed toward the orchestration of education and programming pursuits within the precincts of this center.

He also serves as an advisor for the community members on matters of Fiqh and other related inquiries. Please get in touch with him at imam.elfarooqui@maryammasjid.org to arrange a time to meet him or ask questions.

Imam ElFarooqui has a Bachelor’s degree in Islamic Sciences from Jamia Nizamia, a prestigious private Islamic School. He is currently pursuing a Masters’s degree in Hadith at Jamia Al Azhar.

For parents attending with young children indoors, MCC offers private mothers’ and fathers’ rooms with an audio and visual connection to Prayer Hall. Parents can watch the sermon and pray while working with other parents with young children. The mothers/fathers prayer room is just past the Banquet Hall doors into the school area.
