Preparing for college can feel overwhelming for students and their families, especially when it comes to knowing where to begin. On Sunday, October 4, 2026, MCC East Bay welcomed Hamzah Henshaw for Five Before College, a college preparation seminar designed for students in grades 7–12 and their parents.

The seminar provided an opportunity for families to learn more about preparing for college early, navigating the admissions process, and making informed decisions about their students’ academic futures.

By bringing students and parents together, the program emphasized the importance of starting early, setting goals, and understanding the steps needed to prepare for higher education.
