On Tuesday, Aug. 20, 2024, MCC community representatives gathered at the Dublin and Pleasanton City Council to receive proclamations celebrating August as Muslim Appreciation Month. Sr. Eman Tai (Dublin) and Dr. Jamilah Friday (Pleasanton) accepted the proclamations on behalf of the community.
This is the fifth year the Pleasanton City Council has had this Proclamation. These are the Tri-Valley City Council commemorations in 2023: http://mcceastbay.org/proclamation
The Proclamation acknowledges the rich history and guiding virtues of American Muslims and commends Muslim communities in California for the lasting positive impact they have made and continue to make toward advancing the state and the nation.
The Dublin and Pleasanton City Councils follow in the steps of other City Councils in the San Francisco Bay Area, such as Santa Clara, Hayward, San Ramon, Livermore, Union City, Oakland, San Jose, and Redwood City.
