The MCC Food Pantry serves food insecure households in all cities in the East Bay (in addition to families who apply daily to us for financial assistance). Drop-offs are on 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturdays. 

Donating Food Items

Please drop off only these most needed unexpired non-perishable food items:

  • Cooking oil
  • Salt
  • Sugar
  • Flour
  • Tuna
  • Peanut butter
  • Jam
  • Honey
  • Dry beans (especially garbanzo, kidney and lentil beans)
  • Tomato paste
  • Pasta
  • Canned beans
  • Canned vegetables
  • Rice
  • Cereal or oatmeal

Ethnic Food Items

  • Garam Masala
  • Turmeric
  • Tea packets
  • Cardamom
  • Pepper (red & black)
  • Lentils
  • Baby Diapers Large All Sizes (especially 1, 2, & 3) & Pull-Ups
  • Baby Wipes

Please do not bring perishables, candy, ice cream, or high-sugar foods.

For halal meat drop-offs, please first check with Mirwies Samimi to ensure we have space in our pantry freezers. His cell is (925) 785-9002 (text preferred).

Drop-offs are on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Please items in your trunk before leaving home for contactless donation with pantry volunteers.

We do not accept used or new clothing donations (see here). If you would like to volunteer to sort food at the MCC facility or deliver food care packages, sign up here.

Monetary Donations

Please donate to the MCC Operations Fund. This fund is used for programs, services, and other costs associated with running our center. The food pantry is one of many programs offered by MCC which is dependent on this fund.
