Alhamdulillah, we’ve had quite a few individuals volunteer to help refugees with their job search process. Now what’s needed is someone with the time and energy to oversee the process of matching volunteer mentors with refugees looking for jobs. MENTORSHIP SUPERVISOR

Job Summary:

The Mentorship Supervisor will administer all aspects of the MCC/SRVIC Refugee Support Team’s job search support program including recruiting, training, and supervising volunteer mentors, matching them to refugees and others in need of jobs. and other aspects of supporting the mentoring program.

About the position:

  • Please note this is a volunteer, unpaid position.
  • Estimated time requirement: 4-8 hours per week, all remote.

Duties/ Responsibilities:

  • Recruits volunteer mentors for the job search support program
  • Gathers information about each volunteer’s skills and availability, and  matches volunteers with job seekers based on this information
  • Provides mentors with support resources
  • Communicates with mentors weekly to ensure the placement is a good fit and troubleshoot any problems that have arisen (significant handholding is required)
  • Communicates on an as-need basis with refugees and other job seekers to ensure their needs are being met and troubleshoot any obstacles
  • Forwarding completed resumés to the recruiter
  • Maintains records concerning the job search support program
  • Assists in developing additional job search resources as needed
  • May assist in coordination with other nonprofits serving refugees

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Patience!
  • Proficient with Google sheets
